A sustainable focus, from hive to table

Our role is to bring honey to you, just as nature intended it. That means ensuring our footprint is small and our interference with nature’s process is minimal. To deliver the most pure, premium honey products, we’re conscious in our choices, we give our bees the royal treatment, and we follow the highest production standards - but we don’t do it because it’s regulation, we do it because it’s right.

Hackett’s is driven by three guiding principles that help ensure our honey is the highest quality you can find - delivered to you with service we’re proud of.

Integrity

Respect for our bees, our land, our people and our community is the foundation of our work. With shared purpose and vision, our decisions are driven by our family-centred values. We’re so committed to the quality of our products and the service we deliver that we proudly put our name behind our products. For us, quality beats quantity.

Environmental Responsibility

The environment in which our hives are kept influences the quality of our honey, and we treat our use of this land as a privilege. Therefore, from flower to jar to packaging, every part of the process starts by putting our environment at the centre of decision making, without compromise. We have a relentless commitment to sustainable practice for the welfare of our bees and the environment we live in.

Traceability

All our honey is traceable right back to the hive, so we can always know the origin of our honey. We are audited twice annually by the NZ government’s Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and our honey is independently lab-tested, which assures the quality, purity and authenticity of our products. All our Manuka Honey exceeds the requirements of the NZ Manuka Honey Definition Standards.
